The first step in phase two, “Workforce Education and Retention Issues for the Roofing Industry,” is to conduct an industry-wide economic study survey regarding compensation, benefits, career advancement and the satisfaction of current employees in the roofing industry. The main purpose of this study is to gather relevant information to attract the next generation of employees and retain current employees.
An economic study survey was emailed to Roofing Alliance and NRCA members. Thank you to everyone who responded; however, the Clemson University team needs more responses from our contractor members. If you were not able to take the survey, please do so by clicking on the link below. The survey should take about five minutes to complete, and the responses will be completely anonymous.

To get a better understanding of different levels in the roofing industry, the Clemson University team is requesting you distribute the survey to all your employees and share the survey link with any other contacts who will help support this study. Again, no personal and/or company identifiable information will be collected.

Additionally, the Clemson University team is working on developing a pilot online module that incorporates PowerPoint, audio, graphics, images and progress quizzes. Once approved, this module will serve as a template for the remaining modules for all three courses. Additionally, they are working on the overall structure and the topics that must be covered within all three courses. They will be using the survey results from phase one to identify remaining topics and logically group them together for each course. The goal is to have the pilot module and overall course structure ready for task force review by the first week of September.
