Who We Are

Advancing the Roofing Industry Since 1996

In 1996, The Roofing Alliance was established within the National Roofing Foundation (NRF)* to create a permanent endowment fund to serve as a highly focused resource for the roofing industry and its customers.

Technology & Research

The Roofing Alliance's objectives are to conduct research and educational projects that support high-quality programs for roofing contractors; ensure timely and forward-thinking industry responses to major economic and technological issues, and enhance the long-term viability and attractiveness of the industry to roofing workers.

Philanthropy

The Roofing Alliance also has a philanthropic side, which includes reaching out to the roofing community and its members and helping fund efforts dedicated to good works and charitable giving.

Education

The Roofing Alliance also sponsors scholarships for undergraduate students who are employees, immediate family members of employees or immediate family members of NRCA-contractor and supplier members.

Volunteers. Innovators. Leaders.

Composed of significant contributors, the Roofing Alliance meets twice yearly to analyze, select, recommend and provide oversight for projects addressing critical industry issues. The Roofing Alliance brings together leading contractors, manufacturers, distributors and suppliers committed to securing the future strength and excellence of the roofing industry. A few of the Roofing Alliance projects funded to date include:

  1. Support of NRCA's partnership with SkillsUSA and their Career Technical Education (CTE) Initiative
  2. A roofing-focused college course being developed and implemented by Clemson University to bring awareness to the roofing industry
  3. A Study of the U.S. Roofing Industry and its Workforce being conducted by an Arizona State University team of researchers
  4. A Study of Moisture Release in Concrete Roof Decks
  5. NRCA's Silica Objective Data Collection Project
  6. Support of NRCA's ProCertification™

*NRCA established the National Roofing Foundation (NRF), a separate but related organization, to undertake educational and research projects. NRF is a nonprofit, public foundation incorporated in Illinois and exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the foundation/Alliance are tax deductible, as provided by law.
