ROOFING ALLIANCE UPDATE – JANUARY 2020
We hope your new year is off to a great start! The Roofing Alliance's year is starting off strong. What makes us strong is not only the financial support but the time, expertise and commitment of our members. We know your roles as leaders of your companies and in your communities is demanding, so your involvement and support of the Roofing Alliance is even more valuable! Active and engaged members keep the Roofing Alliance strong, allowing it to positively affect the roofing industry.

We want to begin this month’s update by welcoming the newest Roofing Alliance Regent member—Jason Beals, TRUFAST, Bryan, Ohio. Founded in 1981 in Bryan, the TRUFAST Corp. began manufacturing and distributing unique and better-performing fastening solutions for the commercial roofing industry. As its product offering grew to include other engineered fastening solutions and accessories, the TRUFAST® brand developed a reputation for high-quality products and outstanding customer service. TRUFAST was acquired by Altenloh, Brinck & Co. U.S. Inc. in 2005 and remains a strong brand in the ABC U.S. organization.

TRUFAST fasteners, adhesives and accessories continue to be sold through commercial roofing and building material distributors throughout North America, as well as supplied under the private labels of leading OEM commercial roof system manufacturers. TRUFAST's mission statement is to grow lasting relationships through innovative fastening solutions.

Before closing, we want to share that Samuel T. Piper, former president of NRCA member J.A. Piper Roofing Co. Inc., Greenville, S.C., and uncle of Roofing Alliance member Rodney M. Piper, passed away Jan. 8. He was 96.

Piper was a 1944 Citadel graduate and proud veteran that served as a member of the U.S. Army during WWII. Piper served as president of J.A. Piper Roofing Co. and retired in 1994.

Piper was the son of former NRCA President Joseph A. Piper. The J.A. Piper Award was established in 1947 and is named after Joseph A. Piper in appreciation for his service during the Great Depression. In 1983, Samuel T. Piper won the J.A. Piper Award, which honors a roofing professional who has demonstrated outstanding service to NRCA and the industry.

That concludes our update for January. Feel free to contact us with your comments, questions or any prospective members you would like our membership development team to approach. We look forward to seeing you in Dallas!
Thank you!
