(Orlando, Florida, April 25, 2022)
– P&A
Roofing and Sheet Metal, a leading commercial roofing contractor serving
central and south Florida, announced that it received honorable mention in the
Roofing Alliance Gold Circle Program for outstanding workmanship on Remy’s
Ratatouille Adventure at Walt Disney’s Epcot.
The
Disney Imagineering team designed the buildings using Crookedology, defined as components
being slightly out of plumb, true, level or contain slight variations from a
typical installation, to give the buildings an authentic French feel. This
required the installation of slate roofing tiles that were not exact in their
placement, yet still able to provide waterproofing protection. Other roofing
materials used included, metal, modified bitumen, zinc and sheet metal flashing.
P&A
Roofing crews worked six days a week in three different shifts. The project
took approximately two and a half years to install the five different roofing
systems including the time it took to return after other sub-contractors were
complete so that the protective items could be cleaned up and final looks
completed.
The
Roofing Alliance’s Gold Circle Program recognizes excellence in the roofing
industry. Each year Roofing Alliance and
NRCA members are encouraged to submit their best work to be eligible to win a
Gold Circle award in the following two categories: Outstanding Workmanship and
Innovative Solutions; and Safety Preparedness and Performance. More than 100 winning companies have been
recognized for their achievements since the award’s inception.
