Thank you to all the Roofing Alliance and NRCA members who are serving as team mentors. Mentors serve as a resource guiding the students and faculty through the project/process, answering questions and educating the students about the different elements of the project, products, systems, etc., to help them formulate their own proposals and on-site presentations. Mentors have one or two face-to-face meetings with the team and faculty. If possible—but not required—mentors invite the team to their offices to meet their estimators and project managers, and to a job site to give them perspective of a typical workday.
Written proposals are due Dec. 9. The judges will review the written proposals and select up to five finalist teams to travel to Dallas to give oral presentations. We wish all the teams good luck!
We would encourage all Roofing Alliance members to plan to attend the oral presentations Wednesday morning, Feb. 5, 2020. As you register for the International Roofing Expo® in Dallas, be sure to register for the student competition. The teams will be presenting between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. When the finalist teams arrive in Dallas, they will select their presenting times. As soon as they do, we will post on social media which teams will be presenting at which times so you can support your favorite team.
