The Importance of In-Person Networking for Roofing Professionals Part 2

There are many reasons why successful professionals join an organization that is specifically focused on their industry. Whether it’s training and education initiatives that combat the labor gap, funding roofing industry studies, or giving back to the community, the Roofing Alliance, the Foundation of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), is an organization that provides roofing professionals with the opportunity to get involved with a great cause while providing many valuable leads for your business through in-person networking events.

In-Person Networking Events for Roofing Alliance Members

There are several networking opportunities for roofing contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and professionals sponsored by the NRCA and Roofing Alliance  that are held annually.Here are some ways that roofing professionals can get involved when they join the Roofing Alliance. These events not only benefit the roofing industry, but also provide the opportunity for like-minded roofing professionals to fortify relationships that enhance industry partnerships.

Membership Meetings: Roofing Alliance members attend semi-annual meetings in April and in the fall. Each meeting is hosted at a beautiful hotel or resort where  members can:

  • Focus on member initiatives and other business-related matters
  • Hear updates on current projects.
  • Assess and select new projects to fund
  • Hear guest speakers who motivate, inspire and provide insight into the roofing industry
  • Enjoy social time which provides great  networking opportunities

Programs and Project Initiatives: The Roofing Alliance’s core values include roofing education and training, technology, sustainability, and philanthropy. It has developed several programs with a strategy tailored to enhance each of these core objectives, such as:

  • Scholarship Programs: The Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program provides funding to employees and family members of roofing professionals to further their roofing education. Members committed to this endeavor have the opportunity to provide future roofing professionals with access to a top-notch education while also creating a personal legacy by establishing named scholarships in their name, the name of their business, or in honor of a respected peer.   
  • Philanthropic Outreach: Members support their communities through a variety of programs and partnerships sponsored by the Roofing Alliance. One such example is the Roofing Alliance partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities©.  Members are asked to maintain and repair the roofs of the 165 stand-alone Ronald McDonald Houses in the U.S. Philanthropic events provide members with the opportunity to work together to improve the community while fortifying relationships with other successful roofing professionals.    

Awards and Education Initiatives: To help combat the workforce issue, Roofing Alliance members are committed to enhancing the educational programs of colleges and vocational schools through several award programs and academic initiatives. Along with hosting a national roofing competition, featuring over a dozen distinguished construction management schools,  members also dedicate their time to working with academic programs to bolster their curriculum. Whether it’s scholarship and award programs for outstanding students and faculty or mentorship events, these programs educate the next generation of talented roofing professionals while also providing a unique networking opportunity for members.
