At the annual Alliance meeting held in April 2017, members agreed to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc. In addition to making a financial contribution, the partnership involves connecting Alliance members and NRCA members with the 183 Ronald McDonald Houses in the U.S.
Rod Petrick, Alliance vice president states, “I know this is a large ask. I also know that contractors, whether they are Alliance members or not, give back in some way to help others. For example, I already have asked a friend who is an NRCA member but not an Alliance member to help with an issue at a Ronald McDonald House near him. He responded immediately and had a great story to tell.”
When members adopt houses, they are to conduct a full, detailed inspection with pictures and an assessment report; perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance; and handle any emergency repairs. And members are being asked to do this at no cost to the Ronald McDonald House.
When a member adopts a house, Eagleview Technologies (Piers Dormeyer) will provide an aerial report of the house. Once all information has been gathered, Dataforma Inc. (Daryl Maronic) will add the details to the database being created. Bluefin LLC (Richard Rast) will help with the roof asset management plan. This will allow the Alliance to set annual budgets and work within the industry to handle larger reroof and roof replacement projects as they come up. Rod wants to personally thank the contractors who already have signed up and adopted a house, as well as our partners such as those previously mentioned.
Take a minute and think about how you can make a difference helping families during one of the most difficult times in their lives, allowing them to be in a safe place near their children. Rod would like to see all 183 houses adopted by the April 2018 Alliance member meeting.
