The Roofing Alliance, the Foundation of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), is dedicated to furthering the roofing industry through a variety of programs, partnerships, scholarships, and funding opportunities. The Roofing Alliance also funds educational endeavors that will enhance the industry’s roofing technology. Contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and roofing professionals that want to get involved with Roofing Alliance-sponsored projects can visit the Roofing Alliance’s website to learn more about all of their programs, projects, and membership opportunities.
In this two-part article, we are discussing several of the proactive ways that Roofing Alliance members work to improve the roofing community and help secure the future of the industry. This initiative begins by contributing to several excellent programs that were established by or supported by the Roofing Alliance. In the first part, we covered scholarship funding opportunities with the Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program, partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities© (RMHC), and providing funding for the future of roofing through our Planned Giving Program.
In this section, we will shift our focus to other award honors and philanthropic efforts that either support roofing professionals or recognize excellence in community involvement, workmanship, safety performance, and roofing innovation.
The Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) Program recognizes roofing employees that are both excellent on the jobsite and committed to their community. This award, which celebrates outstanding roofing professionals, is presented during the NRCA Awards Ceremony and Cocktail reception at the International Roofing Expo© (IRE). After the MVP winners are honored, one of these MVP honorees is then selected as Professional Roofing’s “Best of the Best” award winner. They are awarded an additional prize and are featured in their publication.
For Roofing Alliance and NRCA members, their incredible contributions to roofing are recognized with the Gold Circle Awards Program. After a member is nominated for the award by their peers, they submit details of their project which will be assessed by a respected panel of roofing industry professionals. The projects are evaluated based on their outstanding workmanship, innovative solutions, and safety preparedness and performance. Similar to the MVP Program, Gold Circle Award winners are announced at the NRCA Award Ceremony and Cocktail reception and are featured in Professional Roofing magazine.
As a close knit community of committed roofing professionals, the Roofing Alliance provides aid to those within the industry that are affected by life-altering circumstances. The Helping Our Own Program was established to provide funding for families in need within the roofing industry. Whether it’s providing support to a roofing family that has medical bills to pay, funding and participating in disaster relief efforts, or other philanthropic efforts, the Roofing Alliance is proud to help its own through this charitable initiative.
Membership opportunities with the Roofing Alliance are available to all roofing professionals. For more information on our organization’s objectives or how you can make a commitment to the Roofing Alliance, please contact us today.
